I took photos at dozens of marriages before I ever considered myself a wedding photographer. I learnt from industry leaders and worked for some of the best Brisbane wedding photography studios. Wedding photography isn’t something you want to try without any experience. It’s more than knowing how to use a camera. It’s being able to see the stories unfold. Anticipate them. Be ready for the crying bridesmaid, the yawning flower-girl, the extra tight hug from mum, the wink from dad. I didn’t just jump straight in, I wanted to know I could get it right.
If I had to describe my approach as a photographer I would say natural, fun, honest and romantic. I love wide open landscapes, but I am not afraid to get in close to the action. I want your images to feel natural and unposed, but sometimes this takes a little guidance. If you’ve got an awkward hand or that bear hug isn’t working out I’ll (subtly) let you know.
Everything to do with Gabriel Veit Photography is done by me. From emails to editing. If you want to call me the week before to double check a few final details I will be the one who answers your call.
